AI Subscription Downgrade Prediction Analyst

About the role

Our clients include several fast-growing SaaS companies where downgrade events are a bigger revenue risk than outright churn, and far harder to see coming. Reliability of the signal matters more than raw model complexity here. We already have churn prediction covered well. What we don't have yet: a model that predicts which accounts are likely to downgrade tiers rather than cancel outright, so customer success can intervene with the right offer before it happens. You will own this model end to end, from feature design through the dashboards customer success teams check every Monday morning.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a subscription downgrade prediction model distinct from existing churn models
  • Design features capturing usage-tier mismatch signals ahead of downgrade events
  • Own Tableau dashboards customer success teams use to prioritize outreach
  • Validate model precision against actual downgrade outcomes each quarter
  • Partner with customer success leadership on intervention playbook design

Requirements

  • 4+ years in applied data science, ideally SaaS or subscription businesses
  • Strong SQL and statistics background
  • Experience building dashboards in Tableau or a comparable BI tool
  • Comfortable presenting model findings to non-technical stakeholders
