AI Warehouse Capacity Planning Analyst

About the role

Our forecasting systems can predict demand to within 3% for most SKU clusters. What we can't do yet is translate that signal into warehouse space decisions automatically. That's the gap you'd close. This 6-month contract role focuses specifically on building the capacity planning layer on top of our existing demand forecasts. The system needs to account for variable lead times, seasonal surge buffers, and multi-DC allocation. We have clean data in Snowflake and a solid pipeline in Airflow — what we need is someone who can build models on top of that infrastructure. You'll be embedded with our supply chain analytics team of 9, working directly with two senior data engineers and our Head of Logistics Operations. Clear deliverables, well-defined data access, and a team that moves fast.

Responsibilities

  • Build ML models to forecast warehouse capacity needs at 4-week and 12-week horizons
  • Integrate capacity predictions with existing demand forecasting outputs
  • Automate weekly capacity reports via Airflow and surface them in Tableau
  • Validate model outputs against historical utilization data
  • Hand off the model, documentation, and retraining pipeline at contract end

Requirements

  • 3+ years in supply chain analytics or warehouse operations modeling
  • Python and SQL proficiency, Snowflake experience preferred
  • Familiarity with time-series forecasting and optimization techniques
  • Ability to work independently and deliver against defined milestones
