About the role

Our clients are mid-size law firms drowning in repetitive document work — contract review, due diligence, regulatory filings. They've tried hiring more paralegals. Now they want to try AI. Your job: design the AI workflows that actually solve their problems. This is a 9-month contract to design and build 4-5 AI automation workflows for our legal tech platform. Each workflow involves document ingestion, LLM-powered extraction, human-in-the-loop review, and structured output generation. You'll own the architecture from whiteboard to deployment. We need someone who's built complex multi-step AI systems before — not just chatbots or single-prompt tools. You'll work with our CTO on architecture decisions and with our legal advisors on domain requirements. The technical stack is yours to recommend.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end AI automation workflows for legal document processing
  • Architect multi-step LLM pipelines with human-in-the-loop review
  • Build and deploy workflow prototypes using LangChain and Airflow
  • Define technical requirements and recommend infrastructure decisions
  • Deliver documented, production-ready systems within engagement timeline

Requirements

  • 5+ years building complex automation or AI systems
  • Deep experience with LangChain and multi-step LLM orchestration
  • Familiarity with Airflow for workflow management
  • Strong architectural thinking and system design skills
  • Experience working with non-technical stakeholders on requirements
