About the role

Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow are the tools behind our X-ray inspection line, but our current porosity detection model misses subtle internal defects that only show up as faint density variations. You'll retrain and extend our detection pipeline to catch these subtle porosity patterns, working with radiographic images from client welding lines in aerospace and pressure-vessel manufacturing. This is a regulated environment — every model change goes through a validation protocol before it touches a production inspection line, and your documentation becomes part of the client's quality audit trail.

Responsibilities

  • Retrain detection models to catch subtle weld porosity patterns
  • Validate model changes against the client's quality audit protocol
  • Analyze radiographic images from aerospace and pressure-vessel clients
  • Document model changes for regulatory audit trails
  • Collaborate with quality engineers on-site

Requirements

  • Experience with computer vision on radiographic or medical-style imagery
  • Strong PyTorch and TensorFlow skills
  • Comfortable working within regulated validation protocols
  • Attention to detail on safety-critical detection tasks
