About the role

Regulatory frameworks increasingly require AI systems to produce documentation of how they make decisions: what data they used, what populations they affect, what error rates they produce across demographic groups. The EU AI Act, NYC Local Law 144, and similar regulations are moving from optional best practice to legal requirement. Most organizations building AI systems aren't ready to produce this documentation at the required quality and cadence. We help 95 organizations build and maintain their AI governance documentation. Algorithmic transparency reports — structured documents describing model purpose, training data characteristics, performance benchmarks, and fairness evaluation — need to be generated for each AI system in scope and updated quarterly or whenever the model materially changes. As a junior developer, you'll build and maintain the report generation pipeline: pulling model metadata from our clients' ML registries, running standardized fairness and performance analyses, and generating structured transparency report documents in the required formats. Senior engineers define the analysis methodology; you build the reliable pipeline that executes it on schedule and delivers accurate output.

Responsibilities

  • Build report generation pipeline pulling model metadata from client ML registries
  • Implement standardized performance and fairness analysis running against model evaluation datasets
  • Generate structured transparency report documents in regulatory-required formats
  • Create scheduling system running quarterly report generation and change-triggered updates
  • Build data validation ensuring report inputs are complete and accurate before generation
  • Maintain report templates as regulatory format requirements evolve

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python and SQL development experience
  • Basic familiarity with data pipelines and document generation
  • Interest in AI ethics, governance, or regulatory compliance
  • Attention to accuracy in reporting outputs that may be reviewed by regulators
  • Good communication for collaborating with governance specialists
