Junior AI Demand Planning Analyst

About the role

Retailers lose $1.1 trillion globally to stockouts and overstock every year. Our demand planning platform helps mid-market retailers predict what to order, when to order it, and how much — turning a gut-feel process into a data-driven one. We serve 90 retail clients with a combined 18,000 store locations. As a junior demand planning analyst, you'll be the human layer between our forecasting models and client operations teams. You'll review model outputs, flag anomalies, adjust forecasts for known events like promotions and weather, and prepare the weekly planning reports that clients use to make purchasing decisions. It's half data analysis, half client communication. No supply chain experience needed — we'll teach you the domain. What we need is someone who's comfortable with data, asks good questions, and can explain a forecast to a buyer who's been doing this job for 20 years. Your first month is structured training with shadowing; by month three, you'll manage two client accounts independently.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate weekly demand forecasts for assigned client accounts
  • Adjust forecasts for promotions, seasonality, and known events
  • Prepare client-ready planning reports with commentary on key drivers
  • Flag forecast anomalies and investigate root causes
  • Maintain client relationship through regular check-in calls
  • Track forecast accuracy metrics and report trends to the team

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience with data analysis using Python or SQL
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication for client interactions
  • Attention to detail when reviewing large datasets
  • Curiosity about retail operations and supply chain
