Junior AI Ethics Audit Coordinator

About the role

Every AI system we assess goes through a structured ethics audit: a documented review of training data provenance, model behavior on protected attributes, deployment context risks, and governance gaps. Right now that process is coordinated by senior researchers who spend significant time on administrative work that a junior coordinator could handle with the right tools and training. This is a 9-month contract role supporting our audit practice. You'll maintain the audit tracking system, coordinate document collection from clients, run pre-screening analyses to identify obvious fairness issues before the senior team reviews them, and help draft sections of audit reports based on templated findings. The senior researchers will guide and review your work throughout. No advanced ML background required. You need strong organizational skills, comfort with structured data analysis, and genuine care about the ethical implications of AI systems. This role will give you deep exposure to AI ethics methodology that's difficult to get elsewhere.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain audit project tracking system and coordinate client document collection
  • Run pre-screening analyses identifying obvious fairness metric violations
  • Draft templated sections of ethics audit reports based on quantitative findings
  • Maintain the internal library of audit methodology documentation
  • Schedule and coordinate review sessions between clients and senior researchers
  • Build summary dashboards for audit pipeline status and findings tracking

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in project coordination, research, or data analysis
  • Basic Python and SQL skills for data manipulation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Genuine interest in AI ethics, fairness, or responsible technology
  • Clear written communication for report drafting and client coordination
