About the role

We don't care where you work from. We care about output, clear communication, and a genuine interest in learning how real security teams triage alerts under pressure. Our threat hunting and malware detection models generate a steady stream of insider exfiltration alerts that need fast, accurate triage. You will build lightweight scoring logic that prioritizes which alerts a human analyst reviews first, and learn the underlying detection systems along the way. You'll work under a senior threat detection engineer who reviews your triage logic weekly and will help you grow into a full detection engineering role.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build scoring logic prioritizing insider exfiltration alerts for human review
  • Analyze false-positive patterns in existing alert queues
  • Support the senior team by documenting recurring triage decisions
  • Maintain SQL queries powering the alert prioritization dashboard
  • Pair with a senior threat detection engineer on model improvements

Requirements

  • Some Python and SQL experience, coursework or personal projects welcome
  • Interest in cybersecurity and threat detection
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable with ambiguous, incomplete data
  • Eagerness to learn from a senior security team
