Junior AI Property Description Generator

About the role

Real estate listing descriptions are the worst. Every third one says 'charming' and 'move-in ready.' Our clients are residential brokerages and iBuyers who publish 4,000+ listings per month, and their agents spend 25 minutes per listing writing descriptions that are almost entirely templated. We've already automated the template. Now we're improving the personalization — making each description actually reflect the property's unique features and local market positioning. This is a part-time freelance engagement, 25 hours per week. You'll work on the generation pipeline that takes structured property data (MLS fields, photo tags, neighborhood scores) and produces draft descriptions that agents review and occasionally edit. Your job is improving output quality: reducing factual errors, adding accurate local context, varying sentence structure, and ensuring the descriptions are compliant with fair housing language requirements. A junior engineer who's done some LLM API work and wants to build real production experience will find this role genuinely educational. You'll be working on a system that processes real listings every day, with real agents giving feedback on what works.

Responsibilities

  • Improve property description generation pipeline for accuracy and variety
  • Add local market context from neighborhood and comparables data
  • Implement fair housing language compliance checks in the generation pipeline
  • Build evaluation metrics tracking agent edit rate as a quality proxy
  • Create prompt variants and A/B test generation quality
  • Handle edge cases for unusual property types and configurations

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic experience with OpenAI API, LangChain, or similar LLM tooling
  • Interest in real estate or local market data
  • Comfort working independently with async communication
  • Attention to factual accuracy in generated content
