Junior AI Teleoperation Data Labeling Developer

Riley Magnusson

Full-time · Job · Los_Angeles

About the role

Ten engineers, four robot arms and a lot of recorded demonstrations. That's our manipulation lab. We teach robots new tasks by having operators guide them remotely, then training policies on those recordings. The bottleneck is the data: each episode needs segmenting, labelling for success or failure, and checking for sensor dropouts before it's useful. We need a junior developer on-site to build tooling that makes this faster and more reliable. You'll write Python tools, sit next to the operators, and learn imitation learning by being close to the data that feeds it.

Responsibilities

  • Build tools to segment, label and validate teleoperation episodes
  • Detect sensor dropouts and timing issues in recorded robot data
  • Package data processing jobs in Docker for our training cluster
  • Work daily with robot operators to improve the recording workflow

Requirements

  • Comfortable with Python and NumPy
  • Interest in robotics, reinforcement learning or imitation learning
  • Happy working on-site in a hands-on lab environment
  • Internship or project experience with real-world sensor data is a plus

Benefits

  • On-site in our Bay Area lab
  • Lunch provided daily
  • Equity for every employee
  • Commuter benefits
