About the role

As a fully async team spread across 9 time zones, we believe great engineers can work from anywhere as long as the work speaks for itself. Our voice cloning and speech synthesis models need to respond in under 300 milliseconds to feel natural in a real conversation, and right now measuring that latency across different hardware and regions is mostly manual. In this junior role you'll build the benchmarking harness that runs automatically against every model release, tracking latency across AWS regions and instance types, and reporting regressions before they ever reach a customer call.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build automated latency benchmarking scripts for voice model releases
  • Track latency regressions across AWS regions and instance types
  • Containerize benchmarking tools using Docker for consistent runs
  • Report benchmark trends to the infrastructure team weekly

Requirements

  • Basic Python and Docker experience
  • Familiarity with AWS services and basic statistics
  • Interest in real-time systems and performance measurement
