Junior Data Scientist

About the role

The models you'll help build will be used by 15,000 small business owners every day to make better pricing decisions. We're a team of 20 — 4 data scientists, 6 engineers, and the rest in product and sales. As our first junior data scientist, you'll get mentorship and real ownership from day one. Your first projects will focus on customer segmentation and churn prediction. You'll work with our senior data scientist to clean and explore datasets, build baseline models in scikit-learn, and present findings to the product team. We use Tableau for stakeholder-facing dashboards and SQL for everything data. We hire for curiosity and rigor, not years of experience. If you've done solid work in a bootcamp, academic project, or internship and you're ready to learn fast in a production environment, apply.

Responsibilities

  • Explore and clean datasets for customer analytics projects
  • Build and evaluate classification models for churn prediction
  • Create dashboards in Tableau to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Partner with senior data scientists on feature engineering
  • Document analysis methodology and results clearly

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience
  • Solid Python skills with pandas and scikit-learn
  • Comfortable writing SQL queries for data exploration
  • Basic understanding of statistics (hypothesis testing, regression)
  • Eagerness to learn and receive feedback
