About the role

We build AI-powered educational tools for language learning apps. Our chatbots teach Spanish, French, and German to 200,000 monthly users through conversational practice, grammar correction, and vocabulary drills — all driven by carefully crafted prompts. This part-time role (15-20h/week) is for someone who loves language and AI equally. You'll write and test conversation prompts, design evaluation rubrics for chatbot responses, and help us expand to new languages. No heavy engineering required — just clear thinking, good writing, and curiosity about how LLMs handle multilingual tasks. Perfect for a linguistics student or language teacher transitioning into tech. You'll learn prompt engineering by doing it, with feedback from our senior AI engineer on every iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Write and iterate on conversational prompts for language learning scenarios
  • Design evaluation rubrics to assess chatbot response quality
  • Test prompts across different LLM providers and document results
  • Help expand prompt libraries to new languages and proficiency levels
  • Participate in weekly prompt review sessions with the AI team

Requirements

  • Excellent written English plus fluency in at least one other language
  • Basic Python skills or willingness to learn
  • Interest in AI and language technology
  • Strong attention to detail and systematic thinking
  • Available for 15-20 hours/week
