Senior AI Satellite Imagery Change Detection Engineer

About the role

We publish our methods internally every quarter and encourage the team to submit to remote sensing conferences. Zaltex Data provides location intelligence to cities and infrastructure operators, and our newest product monitors construction, land use and road changes from weekly satellite imagery. The research prototype works on clean, cloud-free tiles. Production imagery is messier: seasonal shifts, sensor differences and partial cloud cover. You'll lead the move from prototype to a reliable change detection system covering 40 metropolitan areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of change detection models robust to seasons, sensors and cloud cover
  • Build training data pipelines over multi-temporal imagery using Spark on GCP
  • Define accuracy targets with city customers and report against them
  • Review papers and run reading sessions with the wider geospatial team

Requirements

  • Senior experience with deep learning on satellite or aerial imagery
  • Strong PyTorch skills and experience with large geospatial datasets
  • Familiarity with Sentinel, Landsat or commercial imagery providers
  • Publications or open-source contributions in remote sensing are valued
